Prior to launching The Bolton Group LLC in 2000, Chuck held the position of Group Vice President, Human Resources for Boston Scientific Corporation (NYSE: BSX), a $3 billion, 13,000 employee medical technology company. Prior to Boston Scientific, he held executive roles for SCIMED Life Systems Inc, Leica, Baxter Healthcare Corporation and American Hospital Supply Corporation.
Chuck received an MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management and a BA from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. He has received training and certification in executive coaching, emotional intelligence, resilience and related topics from HayGroup, Corporate Coach University, Arbinger Institute, the Alliance for Strategic Leadership and Adaptiv Learning Systems.

Jim has been coaching for twenty years. Increasingly, he has found that coaching for improved results and team building are critical when an executive enters a new environment. The challenge for real leadership is increased when breadth is needed to improve personal credibility and presence as required for market leadership. He focuses on the critical issues of leadership style, managing by influence, and team motivation and engagement. He has worked with new leaders and succession candidates on the concerns related to "executive presence". Currently, he works only with Presidents or business unit heads.
Jim has twenty years of line operating experience and served as CEO of a Spanish owned media company. His career background consists of five years at General Electric, ten years at McGraw-Hill, and five years at CBS before becoming President of Las Americas, a Spanish-owned firm engaged in publishing and broadcasting in the U.S. Jim has more than ten years of professional experience working overseas with residence in Mexico, Spain, and Canada with strong awareness of crosscultural sensitivities. He built a specialty search practice in media and information services and ran that practice at two global firms.
Jim received a B.A. in English from Dartmouth College. He is a member of the American Management Association HR Council. He has served on the Board of the Software Information Industry Association, the Magazine Publisher’s Association, and the International Association of Corporate and Professional Recruiters (IACPR). He is a frequent speaker on building for success in growth companies, and changing CEO leadership needs. He has been profiled in The Career Makers (Harper & Row) as one of America’s top recruiters.
He is certified in the use of Hay Group Emotional Competence Inventory (ECI),
Leadership Styles Inventory (LSI), and Organizational Climate Inventory (OCI). Other
orientation includes CPI260, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), Thomas-Kilman
Conflict Inventory, Campbell, Strong, and Hogan assessments.
Prior to joining The Bolton Group LLC, Carolyn's role was Vice President, Human Resources North America for Sorin Group, a $1 billion Italian-headquartered medical device company. She has over twenty-five years of experience working with executives in coaching, consulting and human resources leadership roles for companies such as Compaq, United Technologies, Spectranetics, Baxter Healthcare and American Hospital Supply Corporation.
Carolyn is a highly accomplished, results-oriented professional with extensive and diverse experience in companies ranging from start up, high growth to Fortune 100. Her industry experience includes high-technology manufacturing, medical device, electronics, computer, homecare health services, oil and gas, mining, aerospace and telecommunications. Her broad range of expertise includes executive coaching, team coaching, leadership development, organization planning and design, talent management, career management and training.
Carolyn has a BS in Sociology from Colorado State University and has completed post-graduate work at Pepperdine University in business.
